Wisdom Calls

“The Reading Room,

the Reading Room,

the reason that we came.

To walk the halls,

to hear the call,

Her “Wisdom” calls your name.

The Reading Room,

the Reading Room,

Her magnificence Great Hall.

To read the books,

to have a look,

and never be the same.

She’s wood and oak,

where words and prose,

and history grows

each volume they contain.

The oak line desks

only one could guess,

who sat in these before.

No photos here,

She’s far too dear,

and there’s clearance at the door.

She’s beautiful,

restful,

color that’s unchanged.

To walk the Hall,

Hear “Wisdom” call,

And never be the same.”

“Does not wisdom call?

Does not understanding raise her voice?

…for wisdom is better than jewels,

And all that you may desire cannot compare with her.” Proverbs 8:1-11 (ESV)

  1. I love this pic and I love books and libraries but I have never been in such big one reading room. It is beautiful. Thanks for sharing and thanks for visiting my blog.
    Blessings!
