Why not – Tarry in the Movement

“…Meditate

within

your own heart and

be still.” Psalm 4:4 (NKJV)

Hebrew Word #1826 – Still – damam (daw-man)

Dalet, Mem, Mem

Door or Path, of the Movement, of the Holy Spirit.

“…be still.”

Stop,

Be astonished,

Quiet thy self and

Rest.

Tarry here

In the Movement

Of the Flow of the

Holy Spirit.

Secured to the Door of Rest

“The LORD has taught me more in rest,

Than when I’ve strived for my best…”

Poem by denisebalog©

First mention of Strive

“And the LORD said,

 ‘My Spirit

Shall not strive

with man forever.” in Genesis 6:3 (NKJV)

Strive – duwn (doon) the root of #1777 (Strong’s Concordance)

Dalet, Vav, Noon

The Door – Secured/Nailed – to life activity!

“Then Jesus said to them again…

I AM the Door…(NKJV) John 10:7

Anyone who goes through Me

Will be cared forwill freely

Go in and out, and find pasture…

I came so they can have

Real and eternal life,

More and better life than

They ever dreamed of.”

John 10:9-10 The Message

Yep, Jesus has taught me more

In rest,

than I have ever dreamed of,

Or when I have

Strived at my very best!

Morning view – do you see “success”?

Morning quiet time.

In my view, through the window,

is the gas grill.

I couldn’t see the flowers planted on the other side of the grill,

but I know they are there,

Morning view - success - 1
Morning view – success

because I planted them.

Morning view - success
Morning view – success

Made me think of heaven.

I can’t see heaven,

but I know it is there

beautiful…like the flowers.

Morning view - photo 3
Morning view – success

Brought to mind what Jesus said to Thomas,

Blessed are those who have not seen

and yet have believed. “ John 20:29 (NKJV)

I also thought of a promise to me…

“And blessed is she who believed

that there would be a fulfillment

of what was spoke to her from the LORD.” Luke 1:45 (ESV)

 Not seen, but believed…

I thought of “success”.

What does it mean?

Do I want success?

I wondered if “success” was in the Concordance.

Yes, right therebut look,

the word immediately after

“success” is “Succoth.”

What does that mean?

“Booth” or for our western minds “tent”.

The letters are Samach, Kaf, Tav…

Sukkoth (sook-kohth) – booth, tent (Hebrew word & pictures displayed below)

Resting Under the Cover of the Cross!!

Went looking for the first mention of “Succoth.”

Genesis 33:17…our beloved Jacob.

Starting with verse 33:12.

“Then Esau said, “Let us journey on our way

and I will go ahead of you.

Look at that,

Esau, the “world” says “let us” go on our way…”

But

Jacob’s said…

“Let my lord pass on ahead of his servant,

and I will lead on slowly or “gently”…at the pace of the children”

Sounds like my Jesus…Respectful, humble,

gentle, compassionate.

“Come to Me, all who labor.. and I will give you rest…

I am gentle…

You will find rest…” Matthew 11:28-29 (ESV)

“So Esau returned that day on his way.

But Jacob journeyed to Succoth,

and built himself a house

and booths for his livestock.

Therefore the name of the place

is called “Sukkoth.” Verses 16-17

We can go the way of Esau

making ourselves as the world

and going their way to “success”

(remember Esau “returned” to the way he came.)

OR

we can be Jacob…

resting under the cover of

God’s house,

His Word,

and His promises to us.

Going gently, at a slower place.

Resting under the cover (Succoth – booth – tent) of the Cross

Finding all our “successes” are in Him Who loves us!

Hidden Between the Rows

Recognizing friend and fellow WordPress neighbor,

Marquessa’s beautiful “Pleasure Garden” post of today.

Brought memories of a greener time.

Hidden Between the Rows

“What creepth here beneath the light;

Moving about without a sight?

Little frog,

Or cricket so.

A snake,

A bug,

I don’t not know.

You’ll keep me safe,

This I know,

As I till among my garden row.”

“I know all the birds of the hills,

and all that moves in the field is Mine.”

Psalm 50:11 (ESV)

Quiet Love

“The LORD is my Shepherd, I have no lack.” Psalm 23:1

“I have no lack.”

Lord, I woke thinking again.

What about this?

How about that?

Do You think I can go there?

Do You want me to do that?

Questions running through my mind.

Glancing to the Scripture

on the bottom of

The journal page…

“He will quiet you with His love.” Zephaniah 3:17

Yes Lord, I desire You to “quiet me”.

“Quiet” in the original Hebrew text

is the word “Silent” – rest, speak not a word, be still, keep silence.

Silent – charash (khaw-rash) – Kaf, Reysh, Sheen

Jesus “opens” my “head” with His “smile”to know I am loved.

“He will quiet you, with His love.” Zephaniah 3:17

Resting here with my Shepherd.

Speaking not a word;

He quiets me,

With His loving smile,

Upon my head.

Truly,

In Jesus,

There is no lack.

Sharing the journey of my heart.

Would love for you to share yours.

Head Lifter

I woke this morning

Precariously close

To the edge of the pit.

I could “feel”

If I gave “into” it,

A wasted day.

Thinking too far ahead.

Questions of the mind.

Truth be known,

Pilgrimage in my heart.

Pilgrimage – Magowr (maw-gor’) – Mem, Gimal, Reysh

Movement to lift up the head.

“Your statues have been my songs

In the house of my pilgrimage.” Psalm 119:54 (NKJV)

Where do I sojourn

Or dwell?

What causes me to

Seek,

Make the journey,

Turn aside,

To pilgrimage?

Lifting my head

From the pit;

Moving my emotions,

Spirit and Soul?

King David knew the answer…

Your “Word” LORD,

Is my “pilgrimage.”

Refreshing my heart

with a “song”.

“But You, O LORD,

Are a shield for me…

The One

Who lifts up my head.”

Psalm 3:3 NKJV

The eight verses of

I started this Blog,

because

the Holy Spirit

would speak to me

through Scriptures

Giving understanding,

Wisdom,

Peace

In the midst of

I don’t profess to be an expert.

I only know what I know by the

Grace of God.

Grace…under deserved,

Jesus took my bad,

In exchange

I received His good. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

the outcome would be.

I’m finishing Day One;

Clearer then I began.

Thank you Marcey.

Not my Jacob…

Not My Jacob
Not My Jacob

This morning I went looking for Jacob.

Abraham’s Jacob.

What his name meant in the Hebrew word pictures.

I want to be right in step.

I want to make my decisions to do something by walking in the Spirit. Galatians 5:16

With my “Spiritual” man, my “Israel” (the name given Jacob after wrestling with God through the night – Genesis 32:28.)

Not my “Jacob”, my own self-will.

Jacob “Ya aqob (yah-ak-obe’) Yood, Ayin, Koof, Bet

Jacob – God’s hand, to see, to know the depth of our heart.

God knew Jacob, even as ornery as he could be.

(Jacob was known for some slick dealings with his brother Esau – Genesis 25:33 and Genesis 27:35)

God guided, protected, and prospered Jacob,

In-spite of himself.

Yes, Lord, I desire above all else,

You guide me on all the right paths and decisions in life.

You see what I am from the depth of my heart.

You see what I will become, in-spite of my “Jacob.”

“The heart of man plans his way,

But the LORD establishes his steps.”

Proverbs 16:9 (ESV)

Photo101 – Day 20 – “Triumphal” Fragrance

Was it the day, after 15 years of marriage, and three months in the NICU, we brought our premature son home from the hospital?

“He gives the barren woman a home,

Making her the joyous mother of children.” Psalm 113:9 (ESV)

Triumphal Fragrance
Triumphal Fragrance

Was it the day in 2001, three months after September’s 911, and my husband losing his aerospace job in the midst of building, we moved into our long awaited home.

“He is not afraid of bad news;

His heart is firm, trusting in the LORD.” Psalm 112:7 (ESV)

Triumphal Fragrance
Triumphal Fragrance

Yes, these are days of triumph in my life.

But, this is the day my heart

Rejoiced,

Jumped for joy,

Triumph…

The day Jesus was true to His promise,

Removing all my fear, doubts and anxieties

And brought me to

Jaffa, Israel, to show me the brides.

Then I knew…then I understood…

Triumphal Fragrance
Triumphal Fragrance

“My Beloved speaks and says to me;

“Arise, My love, My beautiful one,

And come away,

For behold, the winter is past;

The rain is over and gone.

The flowers appear on the earth,

The time of singing has come,

The voice of the turtledove…

And the vines are in blossom;

They give forth fragrance.

Arise, My love, My beautiful one,

And come away.”

Song of Solomon 2:10-14 (ESV)

“But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession,

and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere.”

2 Corinthians 2:14 (ESV)

Where is peace?

“Peace” she asked.

“What is peace?”

“Where do I find and rest my head on peace?”

Peace is in the Word He speaks.

Peace is in His treasures deep.

He cannot lie or

Change His mind.

He’s with us till

The end of time.”
