In the Season of Stillness They Call

“One by one

I see they’re

Beginning to fall.

Without a breath

Of movement

In stillness they call.

A yellow there,

The tan leaf near

Silently each change

Their color so dear.

The season will change

Without a “fair to do.”

Let my sight be steady,

Continued on You.”

And a time for every matter

Under heaven.”

  1. Indeed the shortness of our life gives us wisdom to be focused on the important things in life so in the end these are the things that linger on long after we are gone. I pray that I may pass on to my children and everyone I encounter in my short time here on earth that which is truly important “Shema, I am the Lord your God, I am the only one. Love your God with all your heart, mind and strength, Love your neighbor as yourself.” Thank you Denise for always awakening in me my true purpose through your beautiful thought provoking poems! 🙂
