What is a Haikus Poem? – a Hug in Elementary

IMG_20160119_084152929

Monday night I “Googled” the definition of Haikus.

What a surprise to find the answer (literally)

staring me right in the face, (hanging on the wall!)

when I went to school yesterday!

In honor of my new friend and very

Talented neighbor, Susan Michaels of Light Room  https://5wise.wordpress.com/

Her Blog daily astounds with

“Words, Light, and Life” in Haiku style poetry.

Susan, I think you will agree,

these Third Grade students

Wrote some fine Haiku poetry!

Here’s hoping you each enjoy a

Haiku style “hug in Elementary”

  1. Beautiful examples from these students. Love them. Why has haiku poetry become so famous? A few years ago at a writing class someone asked and the lecturer said ……..all poetry is an expression of the soul …haiku simply says it quicker and more concisely.(Japanese precision). I have tried a couple of times but not sure if I’ve succeeded. Thanks for the blog.
