Whom is this…Daniel’s Vision in Eighth Letter – Chet

Returning to see the beauty of Jesus illuminated

through the Hebrew Alphabet word pictures

in Daniel Chapter 10.

Our next letter is the Eighth letter Chet.

Chet - 8th Hebrew letter. Word Picture - Fence Meaning: - inner-room, protection, private, to separate, full-face
Chet – 8th Hebrew letter.
Word Picture – Fence
Meaning: – inner-room, protection,
private, to separate, full-face

The letter looks like a fence. Can you see it?

IMG_20160330_191603995

Protection, to separate…

IMG_20160330_191822069

So how the heck does it represent the “full-face”?

Well…

If the Nineteenth letter – Koof

Is the “back of the head” of a man or person”

Koof - 19th Hebrew letter Word Picture: Back of the head. Meaning: Behind, the last, to embrace a "knowing", final
Koof – 19th Hebrew letter
Word Picture: Back of the head.
Meaning: Behind, the last, to embrace a “knowing”, final

And

Reysh - 20th Hebrew Letter Word Picture: Head (of a man) Meaning: A person, the first, the highest, in the beginning.
Reysh – 20th Hebrew Letter
Word Picture: Head (of a man)
Meaning: A person, the first, the highest, in the beginning.

The Twentieth letter is the “side” view of a man or a person

Then in makes sense, “Chet” is the front view of a person.

And the person I am looking to find in Scripture is Jesus!

“…for she said to herself, “If I only touch His garment, I will be made well.”

Jesus turned, and seeing her He said,

“Take heart, daughter, your faith has made you well.” Matthew 9:21-22

Jesus turned and she saw His full-face.

Jumping into the 8th verse in Daniel…what did Daniel see?

Daniel retelling his story in Chapter 10…“So I was left alone and saw this great vision, and no strength was left in me. My radiant appearance was fearfully changed, and I retained no strength. Daniel Chapter 10: verse 8

Daniel saw the face of Jesus – private vision, full face of Jesus.

Chet - 8th Hebrew letter. Word Picture - Fence Meaning: - inner-room, protection, private, to separate, full-face

 Inner-room,
private, full-face vision of Jesus!

In Scripture,

Protection – Eight people were saved aboard Noah’s Ark.

Covenant – Jesus was taken up to the Temple for dedication on the eighth day.

Kingship – David, a man after God’s own heart was the Eighth son of Jesse.

Joyous – the Feast of Booths is celebrated for Eight days.

Ministry – Aaron, the high priest was called by Moses on the Eighth day of preparation.

I pray as we continue through Daniel in Chapter 10,

your eyes would be opened to see the

beauty of Jesus in Old Testament prophecy of Daniel.

In Confidence shall be your strength

Pre-dawn

I woke this morning thinking about Jesus’ week. Recalling, Tuesday if my memory is right, was the day Scripture was “quiet” about Jesus’ activities. No mention at all.

I wondered if Jesus, knowing all that was coming in the next few days, chose to stay in Bethany with His friends and disciples on last “quiet” day. A place of rest.

“In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” Isaiah 30:15 NKJV

The ESV uses the word “trust” in place of “confidence.

The Hebrew word is #982

Batech – visualize the letters in order.

Bet – Heart

Bet - 2nd letter in the Hebrew alphabet Picture of a "tent or house" Within, heart, begin to, build, family.

Tet – Snake or the coiling or twisting and surrounding

Word picture: Snake Meaning: Twisting, Surrounding, Coiling

Chet – Fence – protection, inner place, and looking straight at the letter – the full-face of Jesus.

“In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”

What weakens,

Blows away,

Loosen,

Strangles,

Steals,

Destroys,

And

Kills our “confidence” and strength?

Looking at the letters,

The “twisting”

the “snake” the “choking” place between our HEART

and the FULL FACE, Inner protection of Jesus.

Confidence – the place between our heart and Jesus.

“In quietness and confidence/trust shall be your strength.” Isaiah 30:15

So I think as Jesus spent the day “quiet”, I’m going to “guard my heart” in His inner protection and strength, trusting in the One Who went all the way to the Cross for me.

Dust on His Feet

In the Valley of the Shadow

“He drank the cup,

I could not drink.

He walked the road,

“I will not be afraid…

“And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them…saying,

“…the Son of man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death…they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.” Mark 10:32-34 (ESV)

Jesus and His followers would have surely passed through this valley as they made their way, “up to Jerusalem”.

Petals of Grace – Travel Journey

“My heart overflows with a pleasing them;

I address my verses to the King;

My tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.”

DSCN3315

All around my yard,

Gliding freely, are

Petals from the pear trees.

White petals, as snow,

Decorating the drab brown leaves of

Winter now gone.

Approaching the hillside to begin the climb, our tour guide was surprised to find the almond trees in bloom this early in February.

DSCN0519

“To see the first almond blossoms is a blessing.”

DSCN0728

“Therefore God, your God,

Has anointed you with oil of gladness…

Your robes are all fragrant with

Myrrh and aloes and cassia…”

DSCN0515

Soft pink petals floated freely in the spring air.

My traveling partners and I giggled with delight!

DSCN0733

“Daughters of kings are among your

Ladies of honor…”

DSCN0730

Pink petals decorated our hair, and

Cushioned our feet.

“In many-colored robes she is led to the King,

With her virgin companions following behind her…”

DSCN0725

And as if the blessing of the trip was not enough,

In the Father’s mercy and grace,

We had stepped into another

Time and season, as

Brides of Christ.

“With joy and gladness they are led along

(We) will praise You forever and ever.”

Psalm 45 (ESV)

 Amen!

“Like the almond blossoms,

 We would be up “early”

“Little sleep”,

“First” on the bus

“To hasten”

To be on the “look out”

Of what He would say to me!”

Prelude to “Petals of Grace” – Travel Journal Post

Last night, I prepared “Petals of Grace” as a continuing to my Travel Journal posts.

DSCN3315

Cozying into my early morning spot on the couch, spending some time quiet time, I began to question the post, and my plans to head out for early morning photos.

2015-05-16 Morning Grace

As I inquired, The Holy Spirit illuminated the “petals” in the post are actually “blossoms” from “almond” trees.

DSCN0515

Almond blossoms have a huge significance in Scripture. Remember Aaron’s staff budding? (Numbers 17:8)

My spirit ignited!

2015-12-19 Hearts turned - fire

What was He trying to tell me? I went digging for the Hebrew definition for “almond”.

The poem penned was written AFTER my quick dash out the door once I read the definition.

DSCN3383

Yep, it was a morning of “no sleep” as I “hasten” for what He had to show me. Whatever was out there, I was not going to miss the opportunity to “see”!

“Mr. Almond Blossom,

“No sleep” for you.

You’re the “first” to

Bloom in the morning dew.

“Remain” on the “look out”

To see what “springs”;

“Hasten to watch”

The almond blossom does sing!”
