Dust on His Feet

In the Valley of the Shadow
In the Valley of the Shadow

“He drank the cup,

I could not drink.

He walked the road,

Dust on His feet.

"I will not be afraid...
“I will not be afraid…

He washed me clean,

White,

Brand new.

Opening the door,

To spend time with

You.”

...for You are close beside me." Psalm 23 (NLT) Sunsetting over Judean Wilderness - looking towards Jerusaelm
…for You are close beside me.”
Psalm 23 (NLT)
Sunsetting over Judean Wilderness – looking towards Jerusaelm

“And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them…saying,

“…the Son of man will be delivered over to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death…they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.” Mark 10:32-34 (ESV)

Jesus and His followers would have surely passed through this valley as they made their way, “up to Jerusalem”.

    1. Thank you Alice:) As I too, reflected on the photos, recalling the road by which we went. It was the Jericho Road, the main road from Jericho to Jerusalem. A map in a “study” Bible marks out Jesus’ route on His final trip to Jerusalem, and yes, He went this way from Jericho. He literally went passed the place David spoke of, the valley of the shadow of death. Right there is a place I could spend the day worshiping our Savior. God bless you Alice as you spend your day in His love. denise

    1. Amen! Thank you Susan for stopping by:) I think often on your beautiful blog and inspiring words. I believe He has great plans for you. Like the little colt He sent the disciples to get on Palm Sunday. Jesus knows this world is in need of your gift of peace and encouragement through your lovely daily post. So inspiring:)

  3. I love that image of dust on His feet. I so often have this image of Jesus as perfect and untouched by the world, never dusty, never grubby or weary but He was and that gives me hope. Thank you

    1. Yes Jules, I often have to remember He knows all our weakness cause He walked them too. How great a Savior we have in Jesus Who loves us enough to walk among us. Blessings for the upcoming week:)

    1. Yes, it is a Monastery. This is spot where they believe Elijah hidden under the broom tree and the birds nourished him after his battle with Ahab and the false prophets in Mount Carmel. Amazing.. Now you can visualize how close Jerusalem was for him to travel in that direction after he was refreshed and strengthen. God bless and thank you for stopping by:)
