No Rest Sunday

Not a typical weekend at our house.

After 18 years, it was time to replace the pool liner.

We started on Saturday morning, and working as a family. The new liner, in the 24′ pool began to be filled by 5:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Sunday morning, waking to sore bodies and a job to finish,

Yep, my job was cut and bagging up the old liner as husband and son worked on replacement of rails etc…

With that said, I missed Church today, and it sure was nice to take time to rest on the couch and be encouraged by reading post from my neighbors here at WordPress!

I sure enjoyed your Sunday Devotional on Eagles!

My family and I turned a “job” we were not looking forward to doing, into an opportunity to work together, laugh together, and thank the LORD for the cool weekend in southern Oklahoma!

Oh, and Abby did manage to get her rest!

Installing tip: don’t forget to load up on the spray when doing a job like this!

  1. Wonderful summer=time togetherness. A joy to stop by and in our turn here look forward to our summer which is just round the corner. (We have a small pool not quite as large as yours but above ground) It is in its winter hibernation. We leave the water in but winter treated. If we empty we do not have the assurance that rain would fill it during the heat of summer. Our is usually emptied and fully replaced by full summer downpours. Thank you for blog. God bless!

    1. Hello Faye:) Interesting about your pool. So you don’t empty at all? We normally take down to half and then treat and cover for winter. Completely empty it is 12 to 14,000 gallons to fill new. We don’t get enough rain to count on filling that is for sure! Still too cold for me to swim. The water needs a bit more sun beating on it for me!! I kinda like “warm springs” instead of artic blast!! Lol Enjoy your day!

    1. We put a pool up of the same size when we lived in Texas in 1991. We had this one installed in 1999 where we live now. My Bostonian Father encouraged us to do so for sure!! Lol. I do think it is the “years” between that helped us to forget what laid behind us, and consider what we could do ahead of us!! All and all, it went well! Thanks for stopping by!
