Thunder Changes Direction – Capernaum Part Nine

What of James and John, the sons of Zebedee?

Jesus passed by their work place and their course of life, and names changed forever.

The Sons of Thunder, James the older and first to die for Jesus name in Jerusalem.

And John, forever to be known as the “one whom Jesus loved”.  Follower, disciple, and writer of the Gospel of John, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John and Revelation.

John’s is the English spelling for the Hebrew name “Johanan” which means “Jehovah is gracious”; hence, John represents “Grace”.

Grace represents the numeral five (5):

the fifth time Noah’s name is mentioned, it says “But Noah found grace…;”

the fifth time Ruth’s name is mentioned, “…in whose sight I may find favor or (grace);”

the fifth time David’s name is mentioned when we meet him in 1 Samuel 16, “…let David stand before me, for he has found favor (grace) in my sight.”

The Beloved John wrote five (5) books in the Bible;

Yes, John the disciple whom Jesus loved showered us with His Grace.

    1. Thank you Sarah:) I love the “beloved” John. Too think, he would have possibly been the “baby” of the disciples and he was in the awesome place to lay his head on His breast. Know wonder John wrote on Love. He heard “Love’s” heartbeat…sweetest part yet, because of the Cross we get to hear it too. God bless you my friend!

  1. Interesting comment and confirmation of number 5 and Grace. After 9/11 (2001) I was grieving and trying to help a class of children who wondered about their futures. I asked of the Lord re this and while walking for a brief passing moment overhead the clouds shifted and one cloud became a Number 5 in the sky. I took the photo and the man who printed my photos later commented it deeply touched his life. I believe absolutely we are all held only by GRACE until the Time of His Return. Thank you for the beautiful reflection and photos on this blog.

    1. Wow Faye, “beholding” a number 5 in the sky. The 5th letter in Hebrew is “Hey”. In addition to representing the number ” 5″, its word picture is of a “window”. The definition, ” to behold, “5”, to behold Grace:) You can see it on the chart in the menu bar on my blog. Wow, a number 5. Yes, we are held only by His Grace.
