She Loves to Party

During Recess.

If you ever wondered what a school secretary and the Principal really do when the kids are outside at recess, well this second grader knows the real truth.

We party!

I love all the stars, hearts and what looks like balloons hanging from the ceiling in Maddison’s drawing. They are actually brightly colored paper flowers our student remembers seeing hanging in the office.

Kids aren’t always looking for fireworks and a plugin device to look at, sometimes it’s simply floating flowers in the most unusual places that brings joy to their heart and delight to the eye.

ps: The Principal is actually on the playground during Recess and I am at my desk putting on Band-Aids or washing woodchips, yes, you heard me right, woodchips from kids eyes. I haven’t actually found a “woodchip” in anyone’s eye, but I guess when Oklahoma winds get blowing even a piece of dust can feel like a wood chip in the eye.😊🎐

School Secretary

Gives a million masks.

“Ms Denise, can I have a mask?” Or my favorite when I would ask where their mask was “I don’t know, I think I lost it on the playground.” Of course you lost it on the playground! Lol

Kids are so resilient. They never complained about wearing them except maybe when they couldn’t find their “favorite.” PreK to 2nd grade is hard work keeping up with a piece of fabric or a paper string deal for 4 year olds to about 8 year olds. Many a “princess” or “shark” lost its way from the cafeteria to the playground.

We had to go “virtual” for two weeks early on because the football team/coaches were exposed and we didn’t have enough drivers for the school buses to get the kids to school. When the kids were told to pack up because we had to be out for two weeks, many cried as they left the building. Kids upset to miss school. God bless them, we didn’t mind the temp checks at the door or handing out the numerous mask a day, we just wanted our kiddos in school and they wanted to be there too. ♥️

The drawing pictured is one of my favorites from the “make me cry” gift I received this year for Secretaries Day. Two books full of drawings from “my” kids. I will cherish each picture and caption forever.

Jesse’s drawing cracked me up and pretty much sums up our 2020/2021 school year the best. I must have given Mr. Jesse, a first grader, a mask EVERY day, possibly two depending on if he had PE in the late afternoon.

We never ran out masks, and thankfully, we we’re able finish the year out with our kids and mask free.♥️

The Meeting

He’s asking for you.

Opening where I left off, seeking to hear His voice, I happened upon Lazarus in his tomb.

“So when Mary heard this, she quickly went to find Him, for Jesus was lingering outside the village at the same spot where Martha…” John 11:29 TPT

-Stop-

Hearing Him speak directly to me,

‘the same spot where Martha left Him’.

Lord, where did I leave You?

Did my “Martha” and all her busyness inside “the village” concerned with the many details of work, and service, forget where I met with You last?

Was it in the quiet of summer past?

Have the days and months become one empty vat?

Where did I meet with You last?

Call forth the one who sleeps!

Awaken my ears and heart to beat.

Lazarus, come out!

“The Master is here and He’s asking for you.” John 11:28 TPT

“When Mary found Jesus…she fell at His feet in tears and said, “Lord”.

John 11:32 TPT

Lazarus, the one who God aids.

“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV

He’s asking for you.
