Release the Fragrance!

Strong and Courageous –
31 Days of Victory Through Joshua’s Battles

Day One – Jericho – A Fragrant Place

“…the king of Jericho, one;” Joshua 12:9 NKJV

The meaning of Jericho is a Fragrant Place

What can I learn from Joshua and the fragrance of Jericho?

“Now Jericho was securely shut up…” Joshua 6:1 NKJV

The day is set before me; completely new, unseen, and unknown.

“And the LORD said to Joshua: “See!” I have given Jericho into your hand…” Joshua 6:2 NKJV

I can choose to go my own way or like Joshua, I can believe the LORD has already given me the day.

“You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go around the city one. This you shall do six days.” Joshua 6:3 NKJV

Why would Joshua be instructed to march around the city six times before his victory if the LORD had already promised the city was his?

I can’t help but believe the time spent circling the promises of God, allowing His truths to settle into our hearts is the victory and fragrance over the shut-up Jericho places in our lives.

Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.” 2 Corinthians 2:14

May His sweet fragrance infuse you in strength and courage as you take new land set before you today. Always remembering our loving Father never leaves nor forsakes us in Jesus Mighty Name! Amen.

Loving kindness Fulfilled

“Comfort those who mourn.

Compassion on the ill.

Mercy according to Your Loving kindness,

Until Your plans fulfilled.”

“He indeed was forordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.” 1Peter1:20 NKJV

Over-fed, Stuffed or Blue?

What do I need to begin the new year fresh and new?

Nourishment that won’t cause me to feel over-fed, stuffed or blue?

Jesus…Jesus…Jesus.

May you begin the New Year feeding on the One Who is the finest bread of nourishment for our body, souls and spirits.

Jesus.

“And Jesus said to the, “I AM the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” John 6:35 NKJV

Final Days of Hanukkah – A Light has Shined

“By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,

In Galilee of the Gentiles.

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;

Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,

Upon them a Light has shined.” Isaiah 9:2 NKJV

Hanukkah – Day 8 – The Dedication

Lighting the candlestick in honor and celebration of Hanukkah through the eyes of a follower of Jesus Christ.

And when eight days were complete…His name was called JESUS. (Yeshua). Luke 2:21NJKV

The eighth candle, the final candle of celebration and remembrance of God’s miracle in the Temple in Jerusalem.

“They brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord” Luke 2:22 NKJV

The Dedication.

“And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name means Simeon. (One who hears) “So he came by the Spirit…and he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:

Lord…

my eyes have seen Your salvation (Yeshua) which You have prepared before the face of all the peoples,

A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel.” Luke 1:22-32 NJKV

The miracle of the Light,

The wonder of each night.

Generations came,

Voices gathered in one proclaim,

“Holy, Holy, Holy!

All honor due His Saving Might!

Holy, Holy, Holy!

Praise His Wonderous Light!

I pray you have been blessed as the Holy Spirit has led through this season of honor, remembrance and celebration of Hanukkah through the revelation of His Light and Grace.

– Hanukkah – Day Six – It Was Winter

“Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.” John 10:22 & 23 NKJV

According to history, the Feast of Dedication, or Hanukkah – is the commemoration of the dedication of the temple by Judas Maccabeus was in December 165 B.C.  (The Message, pg 2113)

It was winterthis verse warms my heart in a personal way. Knowing Jesus, Himself the Light of the World, walked the cold stone pavement of Solomon’s porch in Jerusalem. To think, He left His place of glory to walk the earth as we do. Season after season, warm breezes of summer, cold blowing chilled winds, …it was winter.

Lighting the sixth candle and the number six reflecting man’s work, brings my thoughts to Jesus Himself. God in the flesh Who “dwelt among us…”John 1:14 NKJV  Jesus felt the cold as we do. His body had to work to keep warm.

It was winter … Clothed in my western mind set and everything warm packed from my suitcase, (never thinking the Middle East could get this cold)  I walked the streets of Jerusalem thinking of the One Who “dwelt among us” and continues to work and walk this path with me in Day Six of Hanukkah.

The Blessings of The Bread

“Bless my hands and order my steps;

Each one according to

Your Word direct.

Bless my basket and kneading bowl.

Weaving time of refreshment, and

Rest for the soul.”

“Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.”

Cooing Song

“In the Valley of the Doves

Is where I heard my  Faithful Love.

The cooing of His song

Carried my feet along.

Searching for His path;

The sounds of joy

His gentle laugh.

On rocky hills we made our climb;

Guiding steps one at a time.

Further up He sang to me.

Open heart my eyes could see.

Purest Love for all time;

For I am His and

He is mine.”

“O my Dove,

In the clefts of the Rock,

In the secret places of the cliff,

Let me see Your face,

Let me hear Your Voice;

For Your Voice is sweet,

And Your Face is lovely.”

Song of Solomon 2:14 NKJV

“My Beloved is mine,

And I am His.”

Song of Solomon 2:16 NKJV

Jesus said…

“And I will pray the Father, and

He will give you another Helper that

He may abide with you forever –

“The Spirit of Truth” –

Whom the world cannot receive,

Because it neither sees Him nor knows Him,

But you know Him,

For He dwells with you and

Will be with you.”

John 14:16&17 NKJV

Watchtowers Keep

“Rainy streets

Are where

Watchtowers keep

When sleep evades

And memories speak.”

“Upon a watchtower

I stand, O Lord,

Continually by day,

And at my post I am

Stationed whole nights.”

Isaiah 20:8 ESV
