Psalm 91:8

Faith Pictures

“Only with your eyes you shall see…” Psalm 91:8 NKJV

Causing me to think of the life advice in Proverb 4:23,

“Above all else, guard your heart…” Proverbs 4:23 NIV

The Passion Translation shares,

“So above all, guard the affections of your heart,

For they affect all that you are.

Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being,

For from there flows the wellspring of life.”

Proverbs 4:23 TPT

Today, may you be encouraged to…

“Wait on the LORD,

And keep His way,

And He shall exalt you to inherit the land;

When the wicked are cut off,

You shall see it.

I have seen the wicked in great power,

And spreading himself like a native green tree,

Yet he passed away,

And behold, (look, see, observe)

He was no more;

Indeed I sought him,

But he could not be found.”

Psalm 37:34-36 NKJV

The First Thing

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3 NIV

“Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place.” Proverbs 16:3 The Message

“The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.” Proverbs 16:1 ESV

Fashioned as of old

I can remember laughing as Abraham,

“Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old?

Shall Sara, who is ninety years old, bear a child?” Genesis 17:17

Celebration poem in honor of our son’s birthday today!

“Who would ever imagine

We would ever have a son?

Prayed for,

Wanted so,

Desire of my soul.

Then one day,

As in fashion of the old,

Truth sprouted up,

And his story did unfold.

Blessed be his plans even in the strife.

May Your Countenance rest upon him and

Keep him secure through long life.

May Your Loving hand be upon him

As he travels road in bold.

May he keep his eyes upon

You Father,

For Your Love and Faithfulness is more desirable

Than jewels and gold.

Order his steps,

As he walks along the way.

Draw his heart towards Yours;

Never may he stray.

May he walk in the Light of remembering

Whose son he is;

For he is created in Your image,

And in him

Your Son does live.”

“For the LORD will be your confidence

And will keep your foot from being caught.”

Proverbs 3:26 NKJV

anointing my head.

Let me stop;

Not rush ahead.

Breath,

Pause,

the day can wait.

Speak to me at

Wisdom’s gate.”

Blessed is the Nurse – Celebrating National Nurses Day

Especially for all the Nurses in my life.
“LORD on this day of prayer,

Bless the “Day of Nurses” everywhere.

Their helping hands,

Caring hearts;

Dressed for healing from the start.

Blessed is she who cares for the ill.

Strength and dignity are her fill.

Strengthen each with wisdom and might.

Continue strong,

Women in white!”

Discovered today, my Nana was a Nurse at Williamsburg Hospital, Virginia! Thanks Cousin for sharing the photo!!

“She is far more precious than jewels…

She rises while it is yet night…

She dresses herself with strength and

Makes her arms strong.

She opens her hand to the poor

And reaches out her hands to the needy.

Strength and dignity are her clothing…

Many women have done excellently,

But you surpass them all.

Give her of the fruit of her hands,

And let her works praise her in the gates.”

Proverbs 31:1-31 (ESV)

A funny in Elementary…

Miss Cheryl (in the blue) and I dressed up for the Fall Carnival. I borrowed the traditional “white” nurses uniform from a friend. The kids, Pre-K through 5th grade, DID NOT HAVE A CLUE of what I was supposed to be dressed up as!!!

Kids today are familiar with “scrubs”!! Oh we laughed and laughed! Here we thought we were so “smart,” and the kids looked at us like we were crazy!! Gotta love Elementary!!

Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness,

but will have the Light of life.”

Not my Jacob…

Not My Jacob
Not My Jacob

This morning I went looking for Jacob.

Abraham’s Jacob.

What his name meant in the Hebrew word pictures.

I want to be right in step.

I want to make my decisions to do something by walking in the Spirit. Galatians 5:16

With my “Spiritual” man, my “Israel” (the name given Jacob after wrestling with God through the night – Genesis 32:28.)

Not my “Jacob”, my own self-will.

Jacob “Ya aqob (yah-ak-obe’) Yood, Ayin, Koof, Bet

Jacob – God’s hand, to see, to know the depth of our heart.

God knew Jacob, even as ornery as he could be.

(Jacob was known for some slick dealings with his brother Esau – Genesis 25:33 and Genesis 27:35)

God guided, protected, and prospered Jacob,

In-spite of himself.

Yes, Lord, I desire above all else,

You guide me on all the right paths and decisions in life.

You see what I am from the depth of my heart.

You see what I will become, in-spite of my “Jacob.”

“The heart of man plans his way,

But the LORD establishes his steps.”

Proverbs 16:9 (ESV)

Sharing my journey in Scripture;

and the Hebrew word pictures.

I would love to hear your journey.

Blessings, denise

I wonder…how many thoughts, ideas, tears, reflections, and plans have been made gazing beyond the warmth and light of this pane of glass.
