“And behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.” Daniel 10: Verse 10
This was the verse that opened my eyes to see the Hebrew letters.
“a hand touched me…”

Word Picture: Closed (right) hand
Meaning: Work, a deed, to make, effort
Yood – Is the smallest of the Hebrew letters but very significant.
It can represent:
“the hand of God”
“the work of God”
“the favor of God by His hand”
Jesus spoke,
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.” Matthew Chapter 10:29
Matthew Chapter 10 – Ten
Nothing is insignificant to the Father. So much so, Jesus also said,
“For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” Matthew 5:18
He was speaking about the letter Yood.
It’s numerical value is 10. The number 10 represents order:
The Ten Commandments
The 10 generations of Adam to Noah.
God delivered Israel by the 10 plagues.
A minyan (a group of 10 men) is required for prayer in the synagogue.
“And behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.”
Daniel had the “hand of God” lift him up.
God gave Daniel favor – Daniel 1:9
Yood is the right hand – or the hand of favor, by lifting Daniel up.
God was “working” on Daniel’s behalf.
“Strength and comfort commonly come by degrees to those that have been long cast down and disquieted; they are first helped up a little, and then more. After two days he will review us, and then the third day he will raise us up. And we must not despise the day of small things, but be thankful for the beginning of mercy.” quote by Matthew Henry
God does not,
despise our small frames,
or trembling knees.
He extends His hand of
love and favor.
Picking us up from despair;
depression;
sickness;
loneliness;
and with His mighty
right hand works on our behalf!
And like the “Feature photo” of a tambourine depicting Miriam, the sister of Aaron, who took a tambourine in her hand, went out (with all the women) singing and dancing after the LORD, Who (with a Mighty hand) brought back the waters of the Sea.
Delivering the people from the ten plagues and bondage. Exodus 15:19
“On the days when I feel small,
Fighting the battle on my own.
I remember,
You are my Deliverer;
With Mighty Closed Hand of
Yood!”
Yood – the 10th letter of the Hebrew Alphabet.
“Your right hand, O LORD, shatters the enemy…
The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake…
Your stretched out Your right hand;
The earth swallowed them.” Exodus 15:6-9 (ESV)
