Trusting View

“Often times the words

Flow freely from the pencil lead.

Speaking of Your promises;

Void of fear and dread.

But then there is no

“Picture” or

Clear “Visual” to share;

Remaining on the paper

Concealed forever there.

But isn’t this the same

Of what You’ve called our lives to do?

Walking by Your Faithfulness,

Trusting in Your View.”

“For we walk by faith,

Not by sight.”

2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV

Grace, Grace to it!

“I couldn’t bring myself to do it;

Although the pieces were all in place.

Then I remembered what He spoke to me,

Not by “might or power”,

But by His Holy Grace!”

“This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel:

‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’

Says the LORD of Hosts.

‘Who are you, O great mountain?

Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain!

And he shall bring forth the capstone

With shouts of Grace, Grace to it!”’”

Zechariah 4:6-7 (NKJV)

Holds of Grace

“The very thing that holds you in place,

He finished in Love by His Saving Grace.”

“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul,

A hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,

Where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf…” Hebrews 6:19 (ESV)

Thunder Changes Direction – Capernaum Part Nine

What of James and John, the sons of Zebedee?

Jesus passed by their work place and their course of life, and names changed forever.

The Sons of Thunder, James the older and first to die for Jesus name in Jerusalem.

And John, forever to be known as the “one whom Jesus loved”.  Follower, disciple, and writer of the Gospel of John, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John and Revelation.

John’s is the English spelling for the Hebrew name “Johanan” which means “Jehovah is gracious”; hence, John represents “Grace”.

Grace represents the numeral five (5):

the fifth time Noah’s name is mentioned, it says “But Noah found grace…;”

the fifth time Ruth’s name is mentioned, “…in whose sight I may find favor or (grace);”

the fifth time David’s name is mentioned when we meet him in 1 Samuel 16, “…let David stand before me, for he has found favor (grace) in my sight.”

The Beloved John wrote five (5) books in the Bible;

Yes, John the disciple whom Jesus loved showered us with His Grace.

“Father,

Thank You for this joy of heart.

Where do I begin?

What words can start?

Bubbling up,

Bursting forth,

Your Love for me was from the start.”

“But God demonstrates His own Love toward us,

In that while we were still sinners,

Christ died for us.”

In Confidence shall be your strength

Pre-dawn

I woke this morning thinking about Jesus’ week. Recalling, Tuesday if my memory is right, was the day Scripture was “quiet” about Jesus’ activities. No mention at all.

I wondered if Jesus, knowing all that was coming in the next few days, chose to stay in Bethany with His friends and disciples on last “quiet” day. A place of rest.

“In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” Isaiah 30:15 NKJV

The ESV uses the word “trust” in place of “confidence.

The Hebrew word is #982

Batech – visualize the letters in order.

Bet – Heart

Bet - 2nd letter in the Hebrew alphabet Picture of a "tent or house" Within, heart, begin to, build, family.

Tet – Snake or the coiling or twisting and surrounding

“In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”

What weakens,

Blows away,

Loosen,

Strangles,

Steals,

Destroys,

And

Kills our “confidence” and strength?

Looking at the letters,

The “twisting”

the “snake” the “choking” place between our HEART

Confidence – the place between our heart and Jesus.

“In quietness and confidence/trust shall be your strength.” Isaiah 30:15

So I think as Jesus spent the day “quiet”, I’m going to “guard my heart” in His inner protection and strength, trusting in the One Who went all the way to the Cross for me.

Petals of Grace – Travel Journey

“My heart overflows with a pleasing them;

I address my verses to the King;

My tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.”

DSCN3315

All around my yard,

Gliding freely, are

Petals from the pear trees.

White petals, as snow,

Decorating the drab brown leaves of

Winter now gone.

In the ancient town of Zippori, Israel.

Zippori, a once thriving Roman town during the time of Jesus. Walking distance of a few miles from Nazareth, would have brought Joseph and Jesus to earn a living as craftsman working masonry and carpentry. The town is also said to be the home of Mary’s parents.

Approaching the hillside to begin the climb, our tour guide was surprised to find the almond trees in bloom this early in February.

DSCN0519

“To see the first almond blossoms is a blessing.”

DSCN0728

“Therefore God, your God,

Has anointed you with oil of gladness…

Your robes are all fragrant with

Myrrh and aloes and cassia…”

DSCN0515

Soft pink petals floated freely in the spring air.

My traveling partners and I giggled with delight!

“Daughters of kings are among your

Ladies of honor…”

DSCN0730

Pink petals decorated our hair, and

Cushioned our feet.

“In many-colored robes she is led to the King,

With her virgin companions following behind her…”

DSCN0725

And as if the blessing of the trip was not enough,

In the Father’s mercy and grace,

We had stepped into another

Time and season, as

Brides of Christ.

“With joy and gladness they are led along

As they enter the palace of the King…”

Grace – underserved, unmerited

Favor of God.

 “(We) will cause your Name to be remember in all generations;

(We) will praise You forever and ever.”

Psalm 45 (ESV)

 Amen!

“Like the almond blossoms,

 We would be up “early”

“Little sleep”,

“First” on the bus

“To hasten”

To be on the “look out”

Of what He would say to me!”

See today’s post, Prelude to “Petals of Grace” for the Hebrew definition and insights of the almond.

May you blessed richly in His Grace today!
