Hanukkah – Day Four – No Shadow of Turning

“Reflections of the fourth candle illuminate the night. Revelation of Your Beauty completeness in Your sight.”

The seven candlesticks or lampstand found in Exodus 25:32 is the shadow or concealed beauty of Jesus in His completeness in the Tabernacle or Tent of Meeting which Moses was instructed to build in the wilderness. (The Menorah) The seven candles represent completion as the number seven in Scripture can represent completion.

In contrast the nine candles of Hanukkah lampstand can illuminate or be a shadow of the Holy Spirit by the nine gifts and fruits of the Spirit.

Each lampstand is different but both reflect the Presence, the Gift and the Fruit of the Father. For in Him there is no shadow of turning only Love and Light.

May you be blessed lighting the fourth candle and enjoy His Love and Light all year long.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Light, with whom there is no shadow of variation or shadow of turning.” James 1:17 NKJV

Hanukkah – Day One – Shine the Light!

Today begins the lighting of the first of nine candles celebrating Hanukkah.

Thinking on how this applies to my life as a Christian it occured to me the miracle of the light that shines in me because of the Holy Spirit (the oil) I can partake of Hanukkah in the spiritual by sharing the Light.

A word of encouragement to a co-worker who has lost hope in their situation. A prayer with a friend fighting a battle of sickness. A kind word of caring to a neighbor who is experiencing their first Christmas after the loss of a spouse or a child.

Surely in prayer and asking, the Father will light a new candle every day and cause His light to shine in darkness.

Celebrating and lighting the first candle of Hanukkah – Day One.

“Let your light so shine…and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 NKJV

Cooing Song

“In the Valley of the Doves

Is where I heard my  Faithful Love.

The cooing of His song

Carried my feet along.

Searching for His path;

The sounds of joy

His gentle laugh.

On rocky hills we made our climb;

Guiding steps one at a time.

Further up He sang to me.

Open heart my eyes could see.

Purest Love for all time;

For I am His and

He is mine.”

“O my Dove,

In the clefts of the Rock,

In the secret places of the cliff,

Let me see Your face,

Let me hear Your Voice;

For Your Voice is sweet,

And Your Face is lovely.”

Song of Solomon 2:14 NKJV

“My Beloved is mine,

And I am His.”

Song of Solomon 2:16 NKJV

Jesus said…

“And I will pray the Father, and

He will give you another Helper that

He may abide with you forever –

“The Spirit of Truth” –

Whom the world cannot receive,

Because it neither sees Him nor knows Him,

But you know Him,

For He dwells with you and

Will be with you.”

John 14:16&17 NKJV

In Stillness

“There’s no comfort in this world.

No place to lay one’s head.

Foxes surround the vineyard;

Confusion stirs up dread.

But Peace resides in stillness,

Waiting to speak to me.

Open up the Word

‘Be still’ and ‘Follow Me.’”

The “Certain Woman”

“How do you walk in the Spirit?”

The question they inquire to know.

Asking myself,

“Where am I in the story?”

And allowing my spirit to go.

I traveled from the land of Moab,

All the way to Naomi’s’ Bethlehem.

Gleaning in Boaz’s field, and

Eating bread from my

Kinsman Redeemer’s hand.

In the hill country of Ephraim,

Like Hannah,

I’ve cried out to God for a son.

He heard my prayer of sorrow,

And caught my

“tears in a bottle”

Each one.

I’ve been the “Certain Woman” with

A dab of oil left to spare.

He stepped into my land of lack,

Multiplying my vessels right there.

Like David,

 “Ascending the Mount of Olives,

Weeping, barefoot and head covered in shame;

Looking on me with

Compassion,

Turned and restored my reign.

Gently reminding me, once again,

I’m a daughter of the King

In His Name.

So where am I in this story?

LORD let Your Word show me the way.

I’m in need of Your direction and solace,

Let Your Holy Spirit guide me today.

Daniel surrounded in Peace

Nine in Scripture speaks of the Holy Spirit.

Nine gifts of the Spirit – 1 Corinthians 12:1-10

Nine fruits of the Spirit – Galatians 5:22

“It takes the Holy Spirit to understand,

The depth of treasures

Written by Your hand.”

The Ninth letter “Tet” has a meaning of “surround”.

IMG_20160331_185837826_HDR

as in the “twisting” of a vine growing up towards the light.

IMG_20160331_190127234

Or the “encircling” to keep something together, and loose ends from falling apart.

IMG_20150404_170307841

I especially like this example – the “twisting” of braided Easter bread with icing on top! Sweet!

The Ninth letter of the Hebrew Alphabet is the word picture of a “snake”.

Word picture: Snake Meaning: Surrounding, Encircling, Twisting, Coiling
Word picture: Snake
Meaning: Surrounding, Encircling, Twisting, Coiling

Definitely NOT my favorite word picture.

But, as much as I do not like the picture or the idea of a “snake”, there is still no denying the existence of evil.

Hence, even in the letters, “Tet” can be used to help give understanding and wisdom in the “spiritual” and “natural” realm.

What of Daniel in verse 9 of Chapter 10?

“Then I heard the sound of his words, I fell on my face in deep sleep with my face to the ground.

Daniel was “encircled, surrounded” in a deep sweet sleep!

For Daniel, in the context of the retelling of his story, he has just seen the full face of Jesus in verse eight – Chet.

Chet - 8th Hebrew letter. Word Picture - Fence Meaning: - inner-room, protection, private, to separate, full-face
Chet – 8th Hebrew letter.

private, to separate, full-face

He didn’t fall into the “encircling” or “twisted” fear of the “snake”;

But into the sweet sleep of the beloved as one who has seen

And felt the surrounding peace of the beauty of Christ.

If you are tossing, “twisting”, and

feel as if your loose ends are coming apart;

May you as one who hears,

“the sound of His words…”

“I have come that (you) may have life, and that (you) may have it abundantly.” John 10:10

Prelude to “Petals of Grace” – Travel Journal Post

Last night, I prepared “Petals of Grace” as a continuing to my Travel Journal posts.

DSCN3315

Cozying into my early morning spot on the couch, spending some time quiet time, I began to question the post, and my plans to head out for early morning photos.

2015-05-16 Morning Grace

As I inquired, The Holy Spirit illuminated the “petals” in the post are actually “blossoms” from “almond” trees.

DSCN0515

Almond blossoms have a huge significance in Scripture. Remember Aaron’s staff budding? (Numbers 17:8)

My spirit ignited!

2015-12-19 Hearts turned - fire

 What was He trying to tell me? I went digging for the Hebrew definition for “almond”.

The poem penned was written AFTER my quick dash out the door once I read the definition.

DSCN3383

Yep, it was a morning of “no sleep” as I “hasten” for what He had to show me. Whatever was out there, I was not going to miss the opportunity to “see”!

“Mr. Almond Blossom,

“No sleep” for you.

You’re the “first” to

Bloom in the morning dew.

“Remain” on the “look out”

To see what “springs”;

“Hasten to watch”

The almond blossom does sing!”
