Cooing Song

“In the Valley of the Doves

Is where I heard my  Faithful Love.

The cooing of His song

Carried my feet along.

Searching for His path;

The sounds of joy

His gentle laugh.

On rocky hills we made our climb;

Guiding steps one at a time.

Further up He sang to me.

Open heart my eyes could see.

Purest Love for all time;

For I am His and

He is mine.”

“O my Dove,

In the clefts of the Rock,

In the secret places of the cliff,

Let me see Your face,

Let me hear Your Voice;

For Your Voice is sweet,

And Your Face is lovely.”

Song of Solomon 2:14 NKJV

“My Beloved is mine,

And I am His.”

Song of Solomon 2:16 NKJV

Jesus said…

“And I will pray the Father, and

He will give you another Helper that

He may abide with you forever –

“The Spirit of Truth” –

Whom the world cannot receive,

Because it neither sees Him nor knows Him,

But you know Him,

For He dwells with you and

Will be with you.”

John 14:16&17 NKJV

Faithfulness In the Clouds

“Was it in the fields

As we moved through the land?

Or the Scriptures we heard,

And now understand.

Whatever we saw,

We know now as true;

Your Promises are Faithful,

And

Your Covenant is Truth.”

“Your Faithfulness reaches the clouds…” Psalm 36:5 NJKV

“It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth,

 That the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud;

And I will remember My covenant

Which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh;

The waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.”

Genesis 9:14-15 NKJV

Points with No End

View from Mount Carmel. Overlooking the Valley of Jezreel.

“Pencils with no points.

Journey that never ends.

Paper stretched before me

To travel once again.”

The Shunammite woman rode her donkey up Mount Carmel to speak with Elisha. 2 Kings 4:8-37

“And so she departed,

And went to the man of God

At Mount Carmel.”

So it was, when the man of God saw her afar off,

That he said to his servant Gehazi,

“Look, the Shunammite woman!” 2 Kings 4:25 NKJV

Oh what a view from Mount Carmel.

Sweetness of Song

“There’s a fragrance

That lingers inside of my head.

Scenting the steps,

And the paths that we tread.

Oil of joy,

Sweetness of song;

Memories refreshed

In the womb of the dawn.”

Walking the path down to the Sea of Galilee at the Tabgha site where Jesus made breakfast for His disciples.
Climbing the path up Mount Arbel to view the Sea of Galilee. Jesus may have watched His disciples row the Lake from this mountain top.

“When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion,

We were like those who dream,

Then our mouth was filled with laughter,

And our tongue with singing.”

Psalm 126:1 NKJV

Walking the paths of Masada. “Fortress where from 70 to 73 AD Jewish defenders made their last stand in the Judean revolt against Rome”

En Gedi – David – Just a “kid”

We have been blessed with copious amounts of rain for the past week here in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma.

The sun is coming from its hiding place and I thought I would share some travel pictures of David’s hiding place – En Gedi captured in January 2018.

“Then David went up from there and dwelt in the strongholds at En Gedi.” 1 Samuel 23:29 NKJV

As we made our way up the dry path we could hear the trickle of water.

David would have hid from Saul in a cave like these at En Gedi.

I couldn’t wait to put my hand and feel the cool water that David felt.

En Gedi means the “fountain of the kid”.

Seems appropriate “the fountain of the kid”.

David would have been in his twenties when he hid from Saul at En Gedi.

Just a kid, and look,

David’s mighty men!

Hope you enjoyed a brief trip to En Gedi Natural Reserve at the Dead Sea.

Dipped In Colors

“Banners raised

We seize the day.

Dipped in colors

The pilgrim’s way.”

“He brought me to the

Banqueting house,

And His banner

Over me was love.”

Song of Solomon 2:4 NKJV

“You enlarge my path

Under me,

So my feet did not slip.”

Psalm 18:36 NKJV

Pilgrimage in Israel

Flocks of Song

“Birds above

Their morning call.

Palm trees tower

Growing tall.

Morning awakens

Not by alarm,

But in the movement of

Sea gulls and their

Flocks of song.”

“Praise the LORD from the heavens,

Praise Him in the heights above…

Praise the LORD from the earth,

You great sea creatures and all

Ocean depths…

Wild animals and all cattle,

Small creatures and flying birds…”

Psalm 148:1-10 NIV

Friendships to Keep

“How can one sleep

When hidden so deep

Are memories of journey

And friendships to keep.”

Final Hello

2018-01-18 – Journal Note:

“We are running along the east side of Lake Erie – Cleveland.

Snow, like frosting, covers the land below as we head northeast toward Canada.”

“It’s night now

Towns glowing below.

Orange sunset to the West

Waving its final hello.”

Never The Same

“Stepping out into the

Cool dark air.

One lone bird

Welcomes my presence here.

“Don’t lay inside

In a jetlag night.’

Step outside and

Absorb the light.”

Once to be experienced

In this life of change.

Resting on the shore of Galilee –

Never the same.”
