Threads of Pray

“Jesus Christ my Faithful Friend.

You stick with me when I’m at my end.

Working behind the veil of time,

Moving the circumstances entwined with mine.

Bringing together for my good;

Situations and happenings I’ve not understood.

Weaving the colors day by day,

As we spend time together with threads of pray.”

“I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD,

Plans for wholeness and not for evil,

To give you a future and a hope.

Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me,

And I will hear you.

You will seek Me with all your heart.

I will be found by you, declares the LORD.” Jeremiah 29:11-14

Sprouting Out

“Our little bud is soon to sprout;

Stretching forward,

Reaching out.

Breaking through the childhood gaze;

Eyes to open,

Life to change.”

“…that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

May be able to comprehend…what is the

Width and the length and depth and height –

To know the Love of Christ which passes knowledge…” Ephesians 3:17 & 19 NKJV

Tears of Rain

“Lord, walk on water,

As only You can do.

Comfort those who’ve lost their way;

Guide them safely through.

Stretch out Your hand;

The One who knows their pain.

Losing all they have,

Dry their tears of rain.”

“And in the fourth watch of the night

He came to them,

Walking on the sea.

Take heart; it is I.

Do not be afraid.”

Matthew 14:25-27 (ESV)

Continued prayers for those in the midst of this storm.

Holds of Grace

“The very thing that holds you in place,

He finished in Love by His Saving Grace.”

“We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul,

A hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,

Where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf…” Hebrews 6:19 (ESV)

Sunrise on the Sea of Galilee – Israel Journey 2011

Words of Love

“Up and off to Church today.

Bring the Word,

Oh Lord, we pray.

Pour upon the listening hearts,

Your Words of Love right from the start.”

“So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,

To see Your power and Your glory.

Because Your Lovingkindness is better than life,

My lips shall praise You.

Thus I will bless You while I live;

I will lift up my hands in Your name…

And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.”

Psalm 63:2-5 (NKJV)

Opened Heaven’s Door

“A friend loves at all times.” Proverbs 17:17

Miss Cheryl and I never exchanged a harsh word between us.

Oh yes, she would “line” me out a time or two,

“Now, Miss Denise”,

But never in anger or a cruel word on her tongue;

Always with kindness and love.

I will miss you greatly my friend. From my heart to yours,

Opened Heaven’s Door

“She felt deeply for her students, and

Considered each her “dear”.

Listening to their stories;

Counseling them with her ear;

Open to their heartaches,

As she gathered each one near.

But Heaven gained a Daughter,

Faithful to the Son.

I know she heard Him say to her,

“Well done My faithful servant, your job on earth is done.”

Oh, the Joy ahead, and the Peace to Hope for more.

When Jesus called her to Himself, and

Opened heaven’s door.”

In memory and honor of my friend and co-worker during our “season’ of Elementary school together.

Wisdom Calls – The Season of College

College Freshman Day!
Convocation Assembly
Yep, that’s my boy in the red going down to sign the “Commit to Complete Pledge” for finishing what he begins in College.

We’ve been busy embracing this new season of college in our son’s life.

With “Wisdom” on our minds, I would like to re-post a poem from a 2015 trip to the Reading Room in the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. This trip to Reading Room was one of the most valuable investments we made into our son’s life. Wisdomfar more precious than jewels.

Wisdom Calls

“The Reading Room,

the Reading Room,

the reason that we came.

To walk the halls,

to hear the call,

Her “Wisdom” calls your name.

The Reading Room,

the Reading Room,

Her magnificence Great Hall.

To read the books,

to have a look,

and never be the same.

She’s wood and oak,

where words and prose,

and history grows

each volume they contain.

The oak line desks

only one could guess,

who sat in these before.

No photos here,

She’s far too dear,

and there’s clearance at the door.

She’s beautiful,

restful,

color that’s unchanged.

To walk the Hall,

Hear “Wisdom” call,

And never be the same.”

“Does not wisdom call?

Does not understanding raise her voice?

…for wisdom is better than jewels,

And all that you may desire cannot compare with her.” Proverbs 8:1-11 (ESV)

Peace of the Son

“Yesterday was hard.

I was looking back with my heart.

But a new day’s begun;

Keeping my eyes on

The Son.”

“Peace, I leave with you,

My Peace I give to you;

Not as the world gives do I give to you.

Let not your heart be troubled.” John 14:27 (NKJV)

“…and the Peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,

Will guard your heart and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 (NKJV)

He Healed Them All – Last in the Series of Walking about Capernaum

I know on any given day it is next to impossible for me to stop by and visit with each of my WordPress neighbors. The confines of life and time prevent even the most willing of reader and neighbor from doing so. Then there was Jesus.

Two thousand year ago, in His first recorded miracle of changing the water to wine at the wedding in Cana, stepped into Capernaum. Jesus, our Bridegroom, steps into our lives to do the same today. Jesus path to our door. Touching our lives, health, homes, relationships with His miracles of refreshing joyous life, even when our “jars” have gone dry and all hope is lost.

Cana Wedding – Jars displayed in Church located on the site of Jesus first miracle.
Cana Stone Water Jar.

Oh, the marriage supper of the Lamb and His Bride.

“…for He has covered me with the robe of righteousness…and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10

Jesus, drawing all people to Himself to raise the dead, heal, touch, embrace, change lives, give new direction, and touch hearts.  Jesus of Capernaum.  Jesus the same yesterday, today and forevermore.

God Bless and Shalom!

“Let us rejoice and exult and give Him glory,

For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and

His Bride has made herself ready…

Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.”

Revelation 19:6-9 (ESV)

“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and

I will give your rest.” Matthew 11:28 (ESV)

Summer’s Song

“The sky is blue as you move along;

Hovering over the waters,

In tune with summer’s song.”

Written of my swimming friend, a beautiful black and white winged dragonfly.

He delighted me with his playful presence on a perfect summer day.

Little did I know, once visited, he would not return to hover or play.
